I currently serve on the International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE)’s Science & Methodology Committee. The Committee evaluates the global information environment, assesses risks, and investigates response strategies. By organising global research, it addresses threats such as algorithmic bias and misinformation, contributing to evidence-based policies. It generates reports, collaborates with domain-specific Science Panels, and ensures rigorous peer-review.
Throughout my career I have been very active in association activities in information science, globally. A former President of both the Association for Information Science & Technology (ASIST) and the Canadian Association for Information Science (CAIS), I currently serve as Editor-in-Chief of the Annual Review of Information Science and Technology (ARIST).
I have previously served on the Australian Research Council‘s College of Experts and provide expert assessment for grant applications for competitive granting councils in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and other countries.
